Certified Nurse Midwife Krauss was born and raised on a farm in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Educated at Wesley College in Dover, Delaware and Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, he played varsity football, ran the mile and sang with their touring choirs and select mixed quartets. After graduating from Yale Divinity School (where he played on Yale’s rugby team) Ron served as Pastor of parishes in Stamford, then Killingworth, his Connecticut home of thirty years. Following studies at the Yale School of Nursing, he became certified by the American College of Nurse Midwives, practicing first at New Haven’s Community Health Care Plan and in 1980 joined the Obstetrical and Gynecological Practice of Dr. Hanson and Dr. Minkin.
Ron and his wife reside in New Haven with Yale University undergraduates where he is Associate Master at Silliman College, the largest of Yale’s twelve colleges. Judy is a Professor of Nursing and previously Dean of the Yale School of Nursing. She is Master of Silliman College.
To carry on his family singing tradition, Ron sings with both The Yale Camerata and The New Haven Chorale. One of his daughters is an educator in Regional School District 13 and the other a pediatric oncology nurse at Yale New Haven Hospital.
